Mother/Daughter Portraits

My beautiful and talented hairdresser wanted to have some mother/daughter portraits done.  I am so fortunate to have such beauties behind my lens.  I loved capturing this dynamic.

This is batch number two in the balloon department.  I was a clutz and let go of the first.  Fun times!

At Home Maternity Shoot

My regular session includes 2 locations.  We decided to start off at home.  Even though I prefer outdoor photography, the intimacy that indoor shoots bring in a maternity and/or newborn shoot is unparalleled.  There is something to be said about the comfort of your own home:)  In case your wondering, yes all of my clients must pass a beauty test. HAHA, not really....but isn't she stunning?  Inside and out.  Thanks Lindsy for the fun time:)

Indoor, at home newborn shoot:)

Because I am an on-location, natural light photographer, these pictures were done at the newborns home.  I think parents like not feeling stressed out about dragging the little one out and trying to capture the perfection in a 15 minute department store studio setting.  The mom asked me how they get those perfect looking shots that you see on flikr, ect....  Honestly, it takes time.  Time and patience, which I fortunately have:)  Isn't it worth it?

Sweet 4 Month Old

This little sweet pea is 4 months old.  Most photographers say this is an 'awkward stage' to photography (i.e 1-5 months), not newborn, but not old enough to "do" anything like sitting up, ect.  I completely disagree.  Around three months is really when you start to see little personalties emerging.  It has been my favorite stage  (twins are almost a year old).  Going back to my roots, it was at this stage that I decided that I needed to purchase a SLR.  A photographer claimed to photograph babies, but couldn't understand why my 3 month old twins were not sitting up unsupported yet.  Seriously?!  I feel some vindication with these beautiful photos.  Couldn't you get lost in her beautiful, brown eyes?

Beautiful baby girl just in time for spring!

After doing the maternity/family shoot at this location, when beautiful baby girl was born I didn't really give the family an option.  We had to shoot at their house again.  It was a bit cold, so we had a bundle a bit.  Completely worth it though!  While editing these pictures I looked closer to see if I could get a glimpse of a fairy;)

Perfect Couple+1

This was my first shoot that captured a couple's first pregnancy.  It mirrored my maternity portraits last year, being low key and not requiring kids to behave during the session.  A nice change, but that does not mean I don't love, love photographing little ones kiss their mommies bellies!  This first shot was a complete accident.  I was ecstatic to see the barn when I did my first run through.  I cannot wait to meet baby Ella!

Three Under Three

This beautiful family will soon have three under the age of three.  You may recognize the beautiful mommy from a few shoots ago.  We decided to do both a intimate, studio style shoot and then a more casual, family, outdoor shoot.  Great combination I think.  This first photo is of their eldest and may be my fav to date.
